Our Instruments

Since the BPO began in 2000, the orchestra has acquired a range of orchestral instruments necessary to perform large-scale symphonic repertoire. The below instruments are owned and maintained by the BPO and used by its members in performances. 

Ludwig Professional Series Timpani
Acquired in 2006, the set comprises 23", 26", 29" and 32" drums, each with hard transport cases fitted with wheels and ramp.

Lyon & Healy Salzedo Concert Harp
Acquired in 2021 with the generous assistance of Harps Australia, and through the support of a Commonwealth RISE grant, this stunning Concert Grand model comes with hard transport case.

Lyon & Healy Style 100 Concert Harp
Acquired in 2017 with the generous assistance of Harp Centre Australia, this Lyon & Healy Style 100 Concert Grand model is decorated with a custom soundboard decal and comes with hard transport case. 

Buffet Tosca E Flat Clarinet
Acquired in 2017 with the generous assistance of Sax & Woodwind...and Brass, Camperdown NSW.

Fox model 950 'Fast System' Contrabassoon
Acquired in 2018, with the assistance of Fox Products Corporation and Arlen Fast.

Acquired in 2020, with the assistance of Blow Woodwind and Brass.

Trevor James Alto Flute
Acquired in 2020 with the generous assistance of OzWinds with copper alloy body and including both straight and curved head joints.

Yanigasawa WO10 Soprano Saxophone

Adams 'Soloist' Xylophone
Acquired in 2004, the instrument is a 4 octave model and has a protective transport case fitted with wheel and ramp.

Schiedmayer Celesta
Acquired in 2015 with the generous assistance of Schiedmayer GmbH, this 5.5 octave compact model in ebony finish comes with hard transport case with wheels and ramp.
